The Rector of the Warsaw University of Live Sciences- SGGW in Warsaw annouces

a multi-stage competition for the position of Assistant Professor in a group of research and teaching staff  in the field: social sciences or humanities in discipline: pedagogy at the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Education in the Deparment of Sociology and Education.

The candidate applying for the above-mentioned position must meet the requirements specified in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668), in § 89 point 3 of the SGGW Statute.

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate is expected to have:

– at least a doctoral degree in social sciences or humanities in the discipline of pedagogy;

– experience in conducting scientific work in the field of pedagogy, documented by appropriate achievements, i.e. authorship or co-authorship of at least four scientific monographs or chapters in monographs or scientific articles (including at least two in scientific journals) that were published in journals or monographs included in the the list valid for the year of their publication, referred to in § 87 section 1 and 4 of the SGGW Statute;

– obtaining (over the last 2 calendar years) an average annual number of points for scientific articles, scientific monographs or chapters in scientific monographs that is at least 50% higher than the minimum average annual number of points necessary to obtain a positive grade for research activities for an academic teacher employed as an assistant , specified in the rules for assessing academic teachers at SGGW, current as of the date of submitting the application (The minimum average annual number of points necessary to obtain a positive assessment of research activities in the case of an academic teacher employed as an assistant is 80 points);

– a positive opinion of the commission responsible for teaching on the conducted teaching activities, and in the case of persons applying for employment who are not employees of WULS-SGGW

– a positive opinion of the commission for a scientific paper presented at a seminar organized in the unit where the person is applying for employment;

– having documented at least good knowledge of English or another congress language, to the extent that allows you to independently write scientific publications in this language and present reports at scientific conferences;

– managing or submitting a research project, including scientific research or development work or implementation of investments related to education and scientific activity, maintenance of scientific and research equipment, research stand (SPUB) or special IT equipment (SPUBi), financed in a competitive manner by foreign institutions or international organizations and by national institutions, or obtaining, through SGGW, funds for the provision of research services (KZL) commissioned by entities not belonging to the system of higher education and science, worth at least PLN 50,000;

– experience in conducting teaching classes;

– knowledge of Polish to the extent necessary to conduct classes with students in this language.


Specific Requirements

The application for employment must be accompanied by the following documents:

1) employment application addressed to the Rector of SGGW;

2) personal questionnaire (the form is issued by the secretariat of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences);

3) scientific biography (self-report) and CV;

4) a statement confirming compliance with the requirements of Art. 113 of the Act on Higher Education (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) (the form is issued by the secretariat of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences);

5) a copy of the diploma certified as a true copy of the original at the SGGW Organizational Office/copy of the diploma/certificate confirming the award of a doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities in the discipline of pedagogy;

6) list of published works with scores and scientific achievements;

7) confirmation of managing a research project/submitting a research project financed in a competitive manner by foreign institutions or international organizations or domestic institutions, or obtained through the SGGW;

8) list of teaching and organizational achievements;

9) a statement or copy of a certificate confirming at least good knowledge of English or another congress language; 10) declaration of the candidate regarding the declaration authorizing him to be classified as an employee conducting scientific activity (so-called number N) in the event of his employment at WULS-SGGW.

An additional advantage of the candidate will be:

– education and experience in the field of pedagogical therapy and/or preschool pedagogy and/or early school pedagogy;

– completing a scientific internship abroad in research centers or visible scientific activity on an international scale;

– ability to work in a team and availability;

– the candidate should demonstrate positive personality traits, primarily creativity, responsibility, conscientiousness and diligence, communication skills, readiness to deepen knowledge, ability to cooperate in national and international teams, and kindness and loyalty to the team in which he will be employed ).
