Candidate for the position of an assistant in the Microscopic Imaging Laboratory, Center for the Development of New Pharmacotherapies of the Central Nervous System – CEPHARES, Maj Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences (CEPHARES IP PAS)

Skills/Qualifications
Candidate for the position of an assistant in the Microscopic Imaging Laboratory, Center for the Development of New Pharmacotherapies of the Central Nervous System – CEPHARES, Maj Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences, should meet the following criteria:
1. Doctoral degree in biological or related sciences;
2. At least 5 years of experience in advanced fluorescence and confocal microscopy techniques and in-vitro cultures;
3. Scientific achievements proven by publications in international journals;
4. Completed internships in scientific and industrial centers;
5. Knowledge of issues related to molecular biology, biophysics and cell biology, also in the context of the Central Nervous System;
6. Advanced knowledge of microscopic imaging techniques: confocal microscopy, high resolution microscopy, FRET, FRAP/FLIP, 2D/3D image analysis;
7. Very good, practical knowledge of biochemical and molecular techniques (including isolation of proteins and nucleic acids, molecular cloning, WesternBlot, ELISA, qRT-PCR, nucleic acid quality testing, immunohistochemistry / immunofluorescence) as well as knowledge of novel gene editing tools, working with viral vectors;
8. Practical experience in establishing and conducting in vitro cell cultures;
9. Very good knowledge of graphic programs (e.g. Image J, Imaris, Huygens, CorelDraw);
10. Basic knowledge of the R statistical environment;
11. Participation in the implementation of research projects, independent analysis and results interpretation, preparation of manuscripts, public presentation and discussion of results;
12. Motivation to expand knowledge and scientific career;
13. Willingness to conduct own research and scientific projects;
14. Ability to organize own and team work, responsibility for assigned tasks;
15. Proficiency in English;
16. Impeccable ethical attitude.
