About the position 

The Department of Research and Development at Nord University is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated employee for a position as a research advisor in external funding. The university's portfolio of externally funded projects is growing, and there is a need for more expertise in EU advisory within our team. As an advisor, you will play a central role in supporting the university's researchers in successfully applying for and administrating EU-funding. Nord University is a member of the SEA-EU university alliance, the European University of the Seas. The position will also contribute to the cooperation and Nord University's contribution within the alliance. 

The Department of Research and Development is organised as a staff unit reporting to the Pro-Rector for Research and Development and consists of 9,2 full-time positions. Your nearest leader will be the head of the department. The unit works closely together as one team and is responsible for facilitating and following up on research and innovation at the institutional level at Nord University. 


Responsibilities
  • Guide and support researchers in the application process for EU-funded projects
  • Assist with administrative advice during the operational phase of EU projects
  • Stay up to date on the latest calls and guidelines for EU programs
  • Follow up on SEA-EU cooperation
  • Contribute to the development of the field of research administration at the university
  • Other research administrative tasks may be assigned to the position

Qualifications
  • Higher education equivalent to a master's degree
  • Good knowledge and experience with the European research system
  • Relevant experience with developing externally funded applications and/or as project manager or administrative coordinator for larger externally funded research projects

Other qualifications
  • Experience with administrative work will be emphasized
  • Knowledge of public administration and the university and higher education sector
  • Experience with the administration of international research projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. An advantage with good language skills in one of the Scandinavian languages
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle complex tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Personal suitability will be given siginificant consideration

We can provide

The position is paid according to the Norwegian state salary regulations, position code 1434 (Advisor), with an annual salary range of NOK 575.400 - 679.700. Alternatively, for the position code 1364 (Senior Advisor), the annual salary range is NOK 610.700 - 759.100.

Salary and position code are determined based on seniority and qualifications.

The salary includes a mandatory contribution to the Norwegian State Pension Fund.
