Website Specialist

Manage, maintain & develop our University website, ensuring an engaging and user-friendly experience for all visitors.

Mō te tūka | The role

If you are a talented web professional with a passion for higher education and a commitment to excellence?

In this role you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the University's website, ensuring an engaging and user-friendly experience for visitors. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the university to develop and implement strategies for website design, content management, usability, and accessibility.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • Managing technical functionality and performance
  • Content creation and updates
  • Project management of website related projects
  • Use experience optimisation
  • Reporting and monitoring of web site metrics

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.  The remuneration is negotiable from $70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant Tertiary Degree e.g., Computer Science, Digital Design, Marketing, Journalism.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Website Manager, Web Content Manager or similar role
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
  • Knowledge of back-end technologies and content management systems (CMS), a solid understanding of web design and content management systems, SEO and web traffic metrics, digital media KPIs and digital analytics tools knowledge,
  • Extensive knowledge in using CMS systems, and integration of databases
  • Knowledge of integration of marketing activities including social media channels, digital media, digital design and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite) for the development and delivery of marketing campaigns
  • Understanding of website security principles to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
