TRADE SERVICES • Salary + On-Call and Overtime Rates. The role/Te mahi As a Joiner/Carpenter in our Trade Services team, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality construction and building work on the University of Otago, Dunedin campus. You will ensure projects are completed to specified standards, in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner. You will be co-ordinating across campus with facility managers, departmental staff and contractors on the installation and maintenance of services within buildings. About our Team/Mō te tīma Property Services is responsible for buildings with a replacement cost of NZ$2.5 billion, and more than 22,000 hectares of land. With over 3,500 University Staff and 20,000 students, it can be a bit like helping to run a small town. We deploy, support and maintain a wide and exciting array of equipment and facilities including state-of-the-art research laboratories, large student accommodation facilities, and a variety of multi-use space from teaching facilities through to restaurant and café venues. Further details/Pūroko This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin. The appointment range for this position is ($66,538 to $80,190 per annum). The salary listed is the base rate - Overtime Rates, Tool Allowance, and Merit Band progression are available. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position. • Be a Qualified Tradesman Joiner with experience in maintenance carpentry.
• Have experience and practical sound knowledge of the Joinery, Construction and Building sector.
• Be client centred with a strong service ethic.
• Be collaborative, with the ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues.
• Have comprehensive experience and understanding of the Building Act, Construction and Building standards, regulations, and other regulatory requirements relevant to the duties of this position, including Health and Safety requirements.
Hours are 7.30am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
