We have an exciting position for someone to lead our Student Adviser team and continue to grow the team and the service offered by Student Development.  Within this position you will help to guide and develop a supportive work culture.  This is a rewarding opportunity with the chance to make a real impact in the student experience felt by our students.

As the Team Leader, you will:
•   Manage a team of Student Advisers focussed on working alongside undergraduate students to provide high quality advice for these students, ensuring that they go on to have an outstanding University of Otago experience.
•    Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work of the Student Development team, including rostering, event coordination and workload allocation.
•    Maintain a small advising caseload.
•    Maintain a small portfolio of programmes or services as a subject matter expert.

We are seeking a highly organised and energetic individual to manage our busy student-facing service. You will have: 
•    Experience managing or supervising teams or exposure to managing teams.
•    Prior advisory experience.
•    A genuine passion to help and support an exceptional service for all students.
•    An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students and staff.

We are committed to on-going training and development to upskill successful candidates in areas that they desire more exposure to.

Who we are/Mō te tīma

We are a team of highly skilled professional staff who are part of the Academic Division and are responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

Our specific focus is on the student experience felt by our students here at the University of Otago. We work to provide accurate and timely information, assistance and advice across a range of activities from admission to graduation.

Our wider Academic Division is responsible for strategic oversight of teaching and learning policy and practice, oversight of academic staff confirmation and promotion, and other teams which provide support to our student community.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin.
