KŌHATU CENTRE FOR HAUORA MĀORI Mō te tīma/About our team The Kōhatu Centre for Hauora Māori is a Centre positioned within the Division of Health Sciences at the University of Otago that seeks to make a difference for Māori Health and equity. Kōhatu’s functions includes Māori Health teaching, research, service and Māori student achievement in health. Kōhatu is growing across its functions and activities and is seeking to enhance the range and impact internally and external to the University. Te mahi/The role We are seeking applicants for a position as a Teaching Fellow to be based in Dunedin within Kōhatu. This is a full-time permanent position. The successful applicant will have a passion and commitment to Hauora Māori and will support transformational teaching in Hauora Māori within the Medical curriculum. They will work alongside academic and professional staff within the Kōhatu teaching team to successfully deliver high quality learning experiences in Hauora Māori for students across a mix of marae-based and on-campus learning environments. Kōhatu enjoys a positive relationship with Māori students, whānau, community, organisations, iwi and hapū, alongside wide internal and external networks. This position will engage with these networks to continue to build further relationships to support Kōhatu outcomes and aspirations. • Relevant qualifications.
• Preferred experience working in a university context.
• Experience in all aspects of administration for teaching and student tautoko.
• Proficiency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
• A capacity to work within the context of Māori values including manaakitanga, whakawhanaungatanga and whakamana.
• Experience supporting tauira Māori to succeed.
• Experience supporting all students to engage in te Ao Māori.
