Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an opportunity for a Senior International Support Advisor to oversee the provision of high-quality pastoral care support for international students and provide leadership, coordination, and support to the wider UC community on issues relating to international student transition, wellbeing, and retention.
Mōu | Who You Are
To be the successful candidate, you will have a minimum of 4-5 years' experience working with tertiary students and student support networks and agencies, and have:
- experience providing student support, counselling and/ or mental health wellbeing services
- experience gathering and applying evidence based practice models supporting students
- demonstrable practical application of ethics, confidentiality and boundaries when working with students.
- some leadership experience, deliver training and influence a team and apply best practice
- an understanding of bicultural issues and the Treaty of Waitangi; confidence and competence working in a bicultural and multicultural context
- public speaking or experience offering training/facilitating.
- excellent interpersonal, networking and problem solving skills
- knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance issues regarding the provision of pastoral care in support of tertiary students including Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International students
