As the Senior Communications Manager, you will be essential in shaping and safeguarding the reputations of MIT and Unitec and directing strategic internal and external communications.

You'll be responsible for the delivery of a cohesive corporate communications strategy that reflects each institute's vision, values, goals, and culture, providing sound communications counsel and advice to senior leaders from across both institutes.

You will be responsible for the management, leadership and development of the MIT and Unitec communications teams, and will lead all media engagement, managing both proactive and reactive communications and building strong relationships with key media and stakeholders.

This role requires a seasoned professional who can navigate complex environments and drive cohesive communication strategies across diverse internal and external stakeholders.

You will bring at least eight years of experience in a similar role within the tertiary or education sector. You are a strategic thinker, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated team leadership capabilities. You must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong stakeholder management, media relations and crisis management experience.
