The Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting Office (SARO) helps the University achieve its goals by planning strategically, providing data and insights, supporting informed decision-making, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

The role/Te mahi

Based in the SARO Strategy and Advisory Team, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with academic and professional staff to support decision-making through various analyses, and will operate across a designated activity portfolio to undertake and deliver a range of activities.

The primary role involves independent analysis of higher education data to help achieve the University's Strategic Plan goals, including sourcing data, developing insights, and writing reports.

Key tasks include analysing student data (enrolment trends, application conversion rates, retention rates), marketing data, institutional benchmarking, and global rankings. 

The Senior Analyst will also analyse financial, staffing, and statistical data, and may lead related initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will have:
•    Experience in data-driven decision-making.
•    An ability to communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
•    Cultural awareness, including knowledge of or willingness to learn Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Mātauranga Māori, and Te Reo Māori.
•    A relevant tertiary qualification.

While not required, experience in the Higher Education sector could be valuable.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for engaging stakeholders and presenting findings effectively.

You should enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholders, work well in a team, and have excellent relationship management skills. A commitment to integrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi into the workplace and promoting equitable access to higher education is essential.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours) position, located in Dunedin. 

The appointment range for this role is $75,380 to $84,656. Top of Range $94,075.

You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this role.
