The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is a sector leading high-performing team focused on elevating the University of Otago enterprise-wide project portfolio management capabilities and providing a Centre of Excellence for project management, governance, and benefits management.

Since the EPMO's inception in 2018, the team has been integral to the University’s growth and project, programme, and portfolio management maturity uplifting journey, culminating in a noteworthy P3M3 Maturity Assessment score of over 3.0 in 2021. This independent report shows the University of Otago is among the best of its kind worldwide at choosing building, IT and transformation projects that will benefit it the most then managing those projects so they produce the expected benefits. 

You will play a vital part in this team, working with key stakeholders to deliver robust benefits management and help ensuring that the best set of projects are in place to achieve the University’s strategic goals and priorities with optimised value for money.

Te mahi / The role

Working in the University's EPMO and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Project Management Office, this role mainly involves analysing portfolios and benefits. The analyst plays a key role in promoting benefit management practices, including enhancing related processes and the skills of University stakeholders. This position is crucial for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of project, program, and portfolio management (3PM) practices, ensuring that the University's strategic change investments deliver the best possible value.

As a Senior Analyst you will: 
•    Connect and sway project stakeholders to establish a shared understanding of benefits management across the University
•    Assist in developing and implementing consistent project frameworks and methodologies across the University. 
•    Aid in the smooth running of University project, program, and portfolio management (3PM) practices. 
•    Analyse portfolio performance by tracking key performance indicators. 
•    Evaluate project benefit performance through status reporting analysis.

Kā pūkeka me kā wheako / Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone with:

Essential:

•    Experience working in a similar role with a focus on project governance and benefits management;
•    Relevant tertiary qualification;
•    Experience working with, and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders and facilitating project stakeholders' workshops;
•    Expertise in the Microsoft suite of programmes; particularly in Excel and Visio.


Preferred:

•    Prince2, MSP or PMP qualification.
•    Previous experience in an analyst position.
•    Qualification / certification in benefits management and analysis.
•    Experience of business case development, particularly the Better Business Case methodology
•    Experience of workshop facilitation.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours), permanent position, located in Dunedin.
