Position Overview

Massey University operates a significant Estates portfolio across three campuses. The portfolio is diverse in its age and condition with over 500 buildings and a value in excess of $1.5B. Each campus has its own identity and character and is supported by a local Campus Services Team and a national Estates Management Team. Together we plan, deliver, and maintain the physical environment in which learning, teaching and research success is achieved.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic professional keen to learn and contribute to property transformation initiatives. You will be working with and supporting the Associate Director – Information, Systems and Space and the National Space and Property Manager in the delivery of divestment, space and relocation initiatives and projects.

You will bring your experience in stakeholder engagement and communication skills to assist the Estates team in accelerating transformation initiatives.

You must be confident communicating face-to-face, over the phone and via email with a diverse range of stakeholders. You must be capable of learning and using new software and processes quickly and accurately, moving between multiple tasks and processes efficiently. 

The ability to gather information and data collation whilst contributing to preparing base reports should be something you can do with confidence.  

As the successful candidate, you will:

•    Have a background in providing project/administrative support in a team environment in either the facilities management services, construction or related industry.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Some exposure to SharePoint, MS Planner and Visio is desirable.
•    Knowledge of business processes and administration procedures.
•    Be comfortable with people and be able to build rapport and trust quickly.
•    Be a capable team player with a focus on delivering excellent service.
•    A willingness to learn to develop new skills and knowledge.
•    Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the benefits of operating as a Te Tiriti-led organisation.

Experience in the following will be an advantage:

•    Familiarity with facilities management or building industry terminology is an advantage.
•    Experience in property document preparation and;
•    Knowledge of business processes and administration procedures.
