The Faculty of Dentistry comprises of three Departments (Oral Rehabilitation, Oral Diagnostic and Surgical and Oral Sciences) as well as the Sir John Walsh Research Institute.

The role/Te mahi

The University is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Professional Practice Fellow in Periodontology. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a new graduate to launch their career while being well supported by a collegial and dynamic Faculty in one of the leading dental schools in the world.

As a Professional Practice Fellow, you will help support teaching across a range of postgraduate papers and clinical settings in the professional area of Periodontology.

Some key tasks include:
•    Preparation, assessment, teaching and paper administration duties.
•    Contributing to the Department’s academic goals by applying expert clinical knowledge in Periodontology.

Skills and Experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

The successful applicant will hold a dental degree and must have registration or be eligible for specialist registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand. 

The candidate will also have:
•    A practicing certificate in place before starting work.
•    Evidence and ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels of the institution.
•    Commitment to uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the University’s Māori Strategic Framework.

This position is full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed term for 12 months.

The salary range for these positions are $75,231 to $98,857 per annum.
