Located in Ōtautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand

  • Are you an accomplished change manager?
  • Are you passionate about continuous improvement?
  • Do you like the sound of 5 weeks annual leave plus 5 days university leave?

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Passionate about making a difference? We are too!

The University of Canterbury places its students first, striving to offer every student a 'world class learning environment' that promotes individual growth and development. Focusing on encouraging a culture that craves simplification, this is an exciting full-time continuing opportunity to make a significant impact on the way things are done at UC.

As part of the process improvement team, you will foster a continuous improvement culture at UC through the establishment of a Process Improvement Community of Practice, whose purpose is to share best practices and enable process owners and subject matter experts to identify, initiate and deliver successful process improvement initiatives.

You will be involved in significant process improvements initiatives, that target some of the key areas ripe for improvement at UC. Having responsibility for driving high adoption rates and helping others embrace change, you will utilise your negotiation, communication and enabling skills. Providing project reporting, you will be able to demonstrate whether agreed improvement objectives have been met, and if not, your insights and recommendations will guide recalibration.

Mōu | Who You Are
It goes without saying that you are passionate about making things better, simpler, and easier. You will be an accomplished change manager with around 10 years of experience or a process improvement specialist with change management experience. Quickly understanding the activities that are integral to supporting student life, you will enjoy engaging and collaborating with process owners and other stakeholders, supporting their improvement initiatives in both formal and informal settings.

Ideally you will hold a bachelor's degree (NZQA Level 7) in a relevant subject such as change, information systems, business or project management. You will have demonstrable knowledge of change management tools and techniques, preferably in a process improvement capacity. It is also preferred that you have had experience developing and delivering training.

We're looking for the right combination of experience and qualifications, so don't be put off if you don't meet all of the above, we'd love to hear from you.
