Postdoctoral Fellow - Microbiology and Immunology-2401120
DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY Te mahi/The role Applications are invited from outstanding PhD-qualified candidates for a post-doctoral fellowship, to carry out research on an externally funded project in chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell and Natural Killer cell immunotherapy. The successful applicant will be based in a laboratory using genetic manipulation to improve CAR T and NK cell activity, persistence and safety. The laboratory is housed in a department committed to research excellence in molecular biology, immunology and microbiology. • A PhD in Immunology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or similar field.
• Experience with retroviral gene transfer into T cells.
• Experience in T cell cytotoxicity and cytokine assays.
• Proficiency with sequence design programmes, such as Geneious or Snapgene.
• Experience in experimental molecular including cloning, sequencing, PCR and viral packaging.
• A thorough, organised, and systematic approach to laboratory practice and record keeping (essential).
• Self-motivation and be able to work well in a team environment.
• High ethical standards of work.
• Excellent organisational skills.
