Postdoctoral Fellow (4 positions)

The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (SECMS) at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, is looking to appoint 2 to 4 full-time postdoctoral fellows for a period of two years starting from May 2024.  The purpose of the position is to grow the School's research capabilities and capacities in areas that have the potential to give SECMS a distinctive edge.  The focus is on one of the school's research themes; Data Science; Health Technologies, Material Sciences, Energy, and Intelligent Systems (https://www.aut.ac.nz/study/study-options/engineering-computer-and-mathematical-sciences/research ).

The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences has four departments, Computer Science and Software Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematical Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. The School currently has 2800 equivalent full-time students and 110 permanent academic staff with approximately 200 PhD students. The School believes in high-quality research that has an impact and has world-class researchers and research strengths across engineering, computer, and mathematical sciences.

Selection Requirements

• Research activity of the postdoc as judged by the PBRF criteria.
• Ph.D. with a track record of publications.
• Proven, or demonstrated excellent potential for, an outstanding publication record.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality project outcomes in a timely manner.
• Understanding of equity and diversity principles.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Terms and Conditions:

• Two-year fixed-term appointment.
• Starting date: 1 May 2024 or by negotiation.
