Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) Advisor - Sciences + Social Sciences

Develop your Research Management skills + promote our ground breaking research working in Sciences or Social Sciences. Two part time roles available.

Mō te tūka | The role

Support Faculties and Research Centre staff to fulfil their potential Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) outcomes. Specifically, assist researchers to prepare for and participate in the 2026 PBRF Quality Evaluation round.

Based in our Research Management Office, you will be providing training and editorial support to develop portfolios and work as part of a PBRF team to administer PBRF processes. The role includes support of portfolio internal assessment, submission and audit. 

We have two roles available as follows:

  • PBRF Advisor Sciences (this will require knowledge and experience of Science tertiary environment)
  • PBRF Advisor Social Sciences (this will require knowledge and experience in Social Science, Humanities and/or Commerce tertiary environments)

These are fixed-term roles ending October 2026 working 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE) Monday - Thursday based at our Lincoln Campus.  The remuneration fixed at $70,000 per annum pro rata to part time hours.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • High quality professional writing skills.
  • Knowledge & experience working in the New Zealand Tertiary Education sector.
  • Previous experience working in a project environment.
  • Previous experience training and advising in one-to-one and small group sessions.
  • Understanding of and experience working with data collection software systems.
  • Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships with staff and management.
  • Master's degree preferred.
