The role/te mahi

Working with a positive, and supportive team, this role will be suited to someone with exposure to payroll or finance who is looking to further develop their career within the payroll profession. You will enjoy delivering great customer service, communicating with a broad range of stakeholders across the university, in a future focused technology-based environment.

Some primary skills and responsibilities will include:
•    Creating and maintaining accurate electronic employee files, and record correctly.
•    Calculating accurate preparation and processing of payroll, salary, allowances, leave and benefits. 
•    Assisting with the accurate preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll. 
•    Providing expertise on payroll related processes and queries in a timely manner.
•    Reviewing, analysing and verifying payroll reports and documents for accuracy.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Key skills required to perform in this role include:
•    Strong organisational skills: ability to prioritise and manage work with high attention to detail.

•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Sound numeracy and analytical skills.
•    Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgement always.
•    Proficient in the Microsoft suite of programmes.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours), permanent role located in Ōtepoti (Dunedin).

We offer 5 weeks’ annual leave, 6.75% superannuation scheme, interesting and challenging work, and the ability to achieve work/life balance.

The appointment range for this position is $59,285 to $63,651 per annum.
