Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an experienced Mata ahupae | Administrator on a permanent, full-time contract to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Faculty and its academic programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and provide all aspects of administration and front-line support services in the work area.
  • Provide administrative support for academic courses or programme delivery in a professional, accurate and timely manner to all programme or course stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support for postgraduate student management and activities.
  • Assist with organising and attending school and programme promotional.

Your success in this role will rely on your previous experience in an administration role.

You will:

  • Readily exhibit initiative, discretion, and good judgment.
  • Be well organised and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be comfortable working independently in a busy role.
  • Have the flexibility to juggle competing and changing priorities.
  • Be known for your ability to build and maintain strong relationships and your collaborative approach to everything you do.
  • Have excellent client service skills particularly with students.
  • Have a strong attention to detail, and self-management skills.
  • Have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Enjoy working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in administrative and supervisory roles based on a minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and within a continually changing.
  • Outstanding people and communication skills including the ability to adjust to different audiences.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities.
