A fantastic opportunity has become available to work as a Locum Counsellor/mental health advisor in AUT's student counselling service within an integrated well-being environment. This role will provide cover for staff who are on leave, and during our peak semester times.  We are looking for experienced counsellors and mental health clinicians who can work independently and collaboratively across student services to support students' personal wellness and their academic journey. Services are located at three campuses and this role may be required at any of our locations.

As a talented professional with proven success in the therapeutic setting, you will also bring;

  • A tertiary qualification in Counselling, psychology, or another relevant health discipline.
  • A current annual practising certificate.
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking enabling effective decision making.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in mental health assessment, case management, therapeutic intervention, and client risk management.
  • A proven commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and engagement with diverse communities.

This role is considered a children's worker and will be subject to safety checking as part of the Children's Act 2014.
