Position Overview

At the School of Agriculture and Environment (SAE) Massey University, we are committed to advancing education and research in agricultural, horticultural, and environmental science that positively enhances sustainability and resilience. We are seeking applicants to join us as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Farm Management/Agribusiness.

Āu Mahi | What you will do

In this role, you will elevate the educational and qualification achievements of Massey University students in Farm Management / Agribusiness, while also supporting our broader undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Your contributions will include conducting innovative and pertinent research, publishing your findings, engaging in extension activities, supervising postgraduate research, and providing administrative and professional services to the university as well as the wider academic, professional, and general communities.

Ko koe tēnei | About you

  • A PhD in Farm Management/Agribusiness or a related relevant field and research expertise is essential, 
  • A depth of experience and knowledge of Farm Management / Agribusiness in a New Zealand and global context, and extensive experience and knowledge in New Zealand primary production systems. 
  • You will possess demonstrated teaching and research experience in a university or other tertiary teaching environment and a practical understanding of working within a research/ extension/ teaching environment, as well as experience in writing and securing research grants and contracts, and the use of electronic and on-line technologies in blended and distance teaching delivery is essential.

The Salary Range for this role is at a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer grade (for 2024), ranging from $81,172 - $ 143,948 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.
