The role/Te mahi
 
You will work as part of a professional, supportive and close-knit Health and Safety team. Your role will focus on the coordination of the University of Otago health clinic, providing a programme of health services to meet the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations including, ACC Act, Health Information Act and Privacy Act requirements. 

This role will develop and document systems to meet the ISO 45001 standards for accreditation and oversee and direct the workload of our Occupational Health Nurses, Occupational Mental Health and Wellbeing Advisor and Occupational Physician.  

Key tasks of the role also include: 
•    Leading the planning and logistics of the University’s annual flu vaccination programme.
•    Managing day-to-day clinic administration including supplies, schedule of work, documentation, and report collation.
•    Developing, with the team, a strategic plan to achieve identified health outcomes outlined in the Health and Safety team strategic plan.
•    Managing the ACC and Clinic budget and expenditure.

You will be someone who can work with a wide variety of people with varying health needs. You will demonstrate strong relationship building skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective networks.

Successful candidates will also have:
•    A proven record of professional leadership in a similar role.
•    An ability to coordinate, facilitate and influence a multidisciplinary team.
•    Experience in applying project management principles to ensure rapid and robust delivery of objectives.
•    A tertiary level qualification in any discipline.
•    A health qualification, and/or knowledge of Occupational Health (preferred).
•    Experience in a health setting in a senior administration or management function (e.g. Outpatients clinic, GP clinic).
•    Experience in health care IT systems.
•    Knowledge and application of the Privacy Act and Health Information Act.
•    Knowledge of ACC legislation would be an advantage including case management.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours) position, located in Dunedin. Part time work arrangements can be considered for the right candidate.    

The salary level for this position is provisionally evaluated as Level 7, and is subject to change.

Attendance at functions outside of normal working hours from time to time may be required.
