Gross Anatomy Technician - Undergraduate Teaching-2302219
DEPARTMENT OF ANATOMY Do you have a genuine desire to care for the deceased/tūpūpaku? Do you have a passion for education and a willingness to provide the best resources available for medical, dental, physiotherapy and Anatomy teaching? We have a unique position available that requires someone with an exceptional capability to work with the deceased/tūpūpaku who have generously bequeathed their bodies to the Body Bequest Programme in the Department of Anatomy. The role/Te mahi As a Gross Anatomy Technician - Undergraduate Teaching, you will provide teaching support for all undergraduate courses requiring human cadaveric material and coordinate all activities undertaken in the Dissection Rooms. The range of tasks is broad and includes provision of teaching material, care and preparation of human cadaveric resources (including embalming as required) and the maintenance of all instruments and equipment associated with Dissection Room activities. You will be proactive and autonomous in your day-to-day work, while staying in touch with the wider team and keeping in mind the bigger picture. Further details/Pūroko This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this role. The appointment range for this position is $65,281 to $69,648 per annum, top of range $74,947 per annum. SCHOOL OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
• A BSc in a biological science (preferably Human Anatomy).
• A willingness to develop and maintain an understanding of the Human Tissue Act 2008 and NZ Standard 8135-2009 and their importance.
• Good computer literacy skills and some experience using data management software.
• Previous experience in embalming would be advantageous.
