The Department of Mathematical Sciences within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT is seeking to appoint three one-year fixed-term full-time lecturers in the areas of Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, and Computing at certificate level. Candidates should have a track record of quality teaching and a relevant postgraduate qualification.

The start date will be February 2024.

The role will involve providing effective lectures, learning and practical experiences for certificate students at the City and South Campuses within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. A successful applicant will be expected to contribute to one or more of the above-mentioned teaching areas.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has undergraduate programmes with two majors in Analytics and in Mathematical Modelling and Computation. The Department also runs postgraduate programmes in Mathematical Sciences. As one of four departments within the School, the Department provides a wide range of service teaching in Mathematics and Statistics at all levels. The School currently has 2800 equivalent full-time students and 110 permanent academic staff with approximately 200 PhD students.

These positions are teaching pathway. The salary level offered and related workload conditions will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicants.

Salary: $78,000 - $82,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
