Position Overview

We are seeking an Educational Media Developer with rich experience in graphic design, video and audio production, and creation of interactive learning resources.

About the role

This position involves cross-campus work that will embed pedagogically sound learning activities and support within key university courses and programmes.  While you will be consistently aiming to produce work with creativity and style, your true focus will be applying these skills in a way that is educationally sound. You will work with learning designers, learning technologists and other central services to support teaching staff in optimising learner success. Relationships are key in this environment and you will have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships in a wide variety of contexts.

What we are looking for

You will have an eye for sustainability of product in design development and work to achieve optimal results. You could have a background in any area from pure media design to education or teaching, so long as you have the desire to deliver high-quality digitally mediated experiences to our students.

To succeed in this role, you will also need to:

  • be highly disciplined and able to work to deadlines
  • see the big picture while keeping an eye for detail
  • be able to communicate complex information simply and effectively to different audiences in a range of mediums
  • thrive in a dynamic and highly collaborative work environment
  • be responsive to feedback
  • be motivated by working within a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team.

It will also help if you are innovative and understand the importance of pet pics, coffee, good humour and bad jokes! You will need to be located within easy reach of Papaioea Palmerston North but occasional travel within Aotearoa New Zealand may be required.

If this sounds like you, please apply and include a portfolio of your work with your application. Or, if you would just like to find out a little more before you apply, we would love to hear from you!
