Te āheinga: The opportunity

As our Customer Services Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in providing information and library services to students and staff to support them to succeed. You'll also enable students to easily access support services, such as Academic and Career Development, Hardship support, International support and Library Knowledge Specialists.

Daily, you'll spend some hours of rostered shifts providing face-to-face support on the Te Puna Customer Service desk or answering customer phone queries as well as providing back-office administration. You'll be able to interact sensitively and empathetically with our students and staff, including Māori, Pacific and international students.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You'll have:

  • An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
  • Previous experience working in a busy reception, administration or customer service role ideally like a library or tertiary education organisation.
  • Someone who can communicate with a diverse range of people including students, and academic and professional staff.
