Position Overview

Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University is looking for a Communications Advisor to focus on communications to our ākonga (students).

We’re looking for someone who can deliver engaging content to students across a broad range of channels – putting them at the heart of everything you do. You will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and no two days will be the same.

This role sits within the Communications Team, with guidance and oversight from the Communications Manager and the Executive Director, Student Experience. You’ll be creating content for our varied student audience and providing support to the wider Communications Team as required.

You’ll need to be a fast learner, a quick clean writer, have excellent organisational skills and a proven capability to meet deadlines.

To be successful in this role we require:

  • Minimum two years' experience in public relations, communications, or journalism.
  • Writing and editing ability, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to bring together a range of views and present complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Strong customer focus and client service mentality and an appreciation for high-quality work.
  • Strong computing skills, especially CRM Dynamics, Mailchimp, Word and PowerPoint formatting skills, as well as Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience in te ao Māori is an advantage.

We embrace diversity, talent, and performance, and provide staff with an extensive range of opportunities to develop intellectually, professionally, and personally.

This role could be based in either Auckland or Manawatū, however Wellington could be considered for the right applicant.
