Position Overview

Wharerata Function Centre manages hospitality services on the Massey Manawatū Campus including cafes, events & catering. We deliver a range of high-quality cafe food as well as delivering corporate catering, events and Weddings, both on and off-campus.  Have a look around.

We are seeking a Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team and assist the Head Chef in delivering excellent food to a range of students, staff, and external groups.  Our point of difference is our beautifully refurbished homestead and heritage buildings. You will be working with a vibrant team with years of experience, and we have strong foundations in place to support learning and professional development.

SOCIAL WORKING HOURS

Wharerata Function Centre operates from 6am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Days are predominately Monday to Friday, but there's occasionally the requirement to work in the evening or on a weekend for large events.  This position is permanent part-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week and remuneration $26-28 per hour depending on experience.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

  • have a minimum of two years of kitchen experience
  • be passionate about cooking and creating fantastic tasting food
  • enjoy various types of service including café short orders and catering
  • be available to work evenings or weekends if required
