Te āheinga: The opportunity

As a Lecturer in Bridging Education, you will provide quality educational outcomes in literacy and numeracy and enhance student support and success. Bridgepoint's Kaupapa is to 'create pathways to success' for all our students. Our role is to provide our students with access and opportunity to develop real and authentic learning pathways that staircase them into higher education and ultimately employment. To achieve this for the students, learning is highly contextual and collaborative across the learning programs that they study in.

This is a casual role. Casual roles in Bridging Education allow us to cover classes in the event of sickness or planned leave.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You'll have:

  • An understanding or desire to learn Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of Kaupapa Māori
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
  • Experience in teaching students in the tertiary/secondary sector
  • Experience in teaching Level 3 & Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation
  • Strong student-centered focus with an interest in working with neurodiverse learners
  • A positive and flexible approach to problem-solving in the work environment
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to collaborate
  • Knowledge of relevant software packages Microsoft office/ Moodle and a willingness to learn new technology
  • Flexible and able to work across a variety of subjects
