The University of Canterbury places its students first, striving to offer every student a 'world class learning environment' that promotes individual growth and development. Focusing on simplification, automation and reducing business processes, this is an exciting full time permanent opportunity to make a significant impact to the way things are done at UC.

Reporting to the Process Improvement Manager, bring your experience and creativity to UC by joining the growing team of process improvement specialists, where you can make a difference in shaping the experience of UC's learners, staff and community. There's a wide range of projects where you can focus your analytical skills, from enhancing the way communications are sent to students, to simplifying parts of the payments process. Keeping your eye on the ball will help to ensure things operate smoothly, and your troubleshooting expertise will help to fix things if they go wrong.

In this new role with the Process Improvement team, you will have the scope to reimagine and document how things are done, monitoring business processes and identifying process improvement opportunities. Safeguarding the future, you will promote the use of newly established standardised business process assets including a campus wide framework and repository, readily sharing your knowledge and assisting with process mapping where needed.

Mōu | Who You Are
It goes without saying that you are passionate about making things better, simpler, easier. You will be an analytical thinker who enjoys engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, sharing your knowledge and expertise in both formal and informal settings.

Ideally you will hold a Bachelor's Degree (NZQA Level 7) in a relevant subject such as Information Systems or Computer Science, with work experience in Business Analysis or Process Improvement. Adept at requirement gathering, gap and process analysis, you will have hands on experience with process improvement tools and techniques, including Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). You will also have experience in PowerApps or Robotic Process Automation tools such as UIPath.

Don't have all the criteria mentioned above? Don't be put off, we're looking for the right combination of experiences and qualifications and we'd like to hear from you.
