* The Scholarship shall be tenable for one year.
* Students who have held the award for their Honours/Masters Part I year may apply again for the award in their Masters Part II year.

History or background of award
The family of Alison Morton, a Victoria University graduate who completed a BSc (Hons) in Ecology, has established this scholarship in her memory. The Scholarship incorporates a contribution from the estate of Alison's grandparents, Grace and Reg Riddick.
Purpose of award
To encourage the study of Ecology and Marine Biology at Victoria University.
* The Scholarship shall be awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in a BSc (Hons) or MSc in Ecology or Marine Biology.
* The student must have completed undergraduate study at Victoria University.
* In making the award the panel may take into account not only the academic merits of the candidates but also their financial needs.
* If no suitable applicant is available in any one year, the Scholarship will not be awarded and the funds will be re-invested.

The successful candidate shall be selected by a panel consisting of the Head of the School of Biological Sciences (or nominee); and the convener of the Scholarships Committee (or nominee).
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The successful candidate will be required to write a progress report for the donors at the conclusion of the academic year.
