Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering is a busy and diverse department that provides cutting edge research and education for engineers looking to provide a better future on the world and society.
This role of Department Administrator will provide professional and effective support in the key areas of travel arrangements and coordination, undergraduate student support and administration, academic, accounts and general administration. You will provide assistance in analysing and monitoring processes and expenditures relating to academic staff and post-graduate students, ensuring that the required processes are adhered to, and facilitating process steps between students, supervisors and technicians as necessary.
This role is a fixed term position covering parental leave.
Mōu | Who You Are
As an experienced administrator, with a background in business or education-related environment you will have:
- National Certificate (NZQA Level 4) qualification or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of demonstrated work experience working in an educational or business environment, preferably in large organisations
- Competent in all Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to cope with competing demands.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to relate to people with varying backgrounds, education and seniority, you will have the ability to work with a wide variety of people, with a flair for quickly developing effective professional relationships. You will also have excellent written and oral communications skills, and a demonstrated competence in the Microsoft Office suite and content management systems.
