Offer Description
You will become part of a team working on the development of different material platforms for Integrated Photonics. In particular, this position deals with the development of numerical analysis tool to study large amount of data coming from the wafer-level testing of many photonic integrated circuits with the goal of improving the foundry process in terms of performance and reproducibility, both at the wafer level and from wafer to wafer. Analysis of the tested devices and feedback to a PDK to close the design to test loop is also part of the tasks of the project.
You will team up with a PhD student also employed in the same project and with all the members of the IOS Team and a consortium of industrial partners.
Requirements
Specific Requirements
- PhD degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, materials engineering/science or photonics engineering, with a good background in cleanroom microfabrication, deposition of optical materials and design/simulation of optical devices.
- You have a good team spirit and like to work in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.
- Experimental experience in the optical characterization of integrated optical devices is also desirable
- You have a creative mindset and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Benefits
- A full-time position for two years, and the flexibility to work (partially) from home.
- Your salary and associated conditions are in accordance with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO-NU).
- You will receive a gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.877,- to € 5.090,-
- There are excellent benefits including a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, and a solid pension scheme.
- A minimum of 232 leave hours in case of full-time employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A full-time employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis.
