Educational Advisor Blended Learning

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Deadline: 28 Jun 2022

Educational challenges in which ICT plays an important role? You like to sink your teeth into it. This is how your role as Blended Learner expert takes education at TU Delft to an even higher level.

ICT offers us a range of possibilities to create an optimal learning environment: from the complexity of interactive videos, mobile technology and anti-fraud software to the simplicity of chat tools and online quizzes. Now more than ever, we need pandemic-proof tools that can ensure the best education, regardless of class size or location.

If you have the skills and drive to take on this task, you will work with teachers and see how you can improve courses and what tools are needed to do so. You are also able to guide lecturers (teams) in developing courses and programs. In this way you help with the creation of blended and online formats and you contribute to increasing the quality of education, for example by improving student interaction.

In addition to supervising lecturers, you advise educational management on what blended learning has to offer TU Delft. You give lunch lectures, workshops, develop materials and are involved in innovation projects. Also at the coffee machine you create awareness about the added value of blended learning. In doing so, you manage expectations: you are a promoter, but you always opt for a realistic approach. The use of ICT is a means to an end – better education – and never an end in itself.

As a central educational advisor, you are part of the Teaching and Learning Services team (TLS), the central team of education advisors within TU Delft. As a team, you exchange knowledge, you spar about improvements and you lay the foundation for, for example, new tools with which you can support teachers. In this way you build a beautiful community of people with a mission in an informal atmosphere: to make our national and international top university even more innovative. Moreover, our team is in full development and we will continue to grow in the coming period. This also gives you a lot of space to think about how we can do our work together as well as possible, with attention to personal development and a good work-life balance.

  • You have university level and a relevant education, preferably in educational science, instructional design or educational technology. Or you have a comparable level based on work experience.
  • You preferably have at least one year of experience in supervising teachers or content experts in developing blended education. Experience with project management is a plus.
  • You are well acquainted with the (im)possibilities of ICT in education and you have innovative ideas about digital and online learning, supervision and testing.
  • You can easily figure out the real problem behind the question and you know how to find the right balance between practical solutions and the ideal situation.
  • You feel at home in a large, complex organization.
  • You can be persuasive, you can deal well with conflicting interests and you know how to inspire teachers to continuously improve their teaching.
  • You enjoy working in an international environment and are fluent in English (the language of instruction in your team and in most projects). Basic Dutch is a plus.
  • Duration of contract is 1 year with prospect of permanent.
  • A job of 32-40 hours per week.
  • A salary based on scale 11 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a minimum of € 3.821,- and a maximum of € 5.230,- gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
  • An excellent pension scheme via the ABP.
  • The possibility to compile an individual employment package every year.
  • Discount with health insurers.
  • Flexible working week.
  • Every year, 232 leave hours (at 38 hours). You can also sell or buy additional leave hours via the individual choice budget.
  • Plenty of opportunities for education, training and courses.
  • Partially paid parental leave
  • Attention for working healthy and energetically with the vitality program.
