Associate professor in nursing

The Research Unit of Medical Endocrinology , Department of Clinical Research, invites applications for a position as associate professor of nursing (19,75% time) to be filled as soon as possible and for a period of 5 years with possibility of extension.

The Department of Endocrinology is one of three Elite Research Centres established at Odense University Hospital in 2012. The department has a very active research environment extending to all subspecialties, i.e. bone metabolism, diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, pituitary- adrenal-gonadal diseases, nutrition and hypertension. The research unit has it’s own
laboratory.

Research tasks: 

The associate professor will be expected to contribute to the development of the research strategy and profile of the department with special emphasis on nursing research as well as to increase the research activity within this field.

The researcher in nursing will be expected to participate in the further development of nursing and endocrinology both nationally and internationally and to mentor PhD-students and other junior researchers.

Teaching tasks: 

The applicant must anticipate teaching at the pre- and post-graduate courses offered by the Faculty of  Health Sciences. These obligations include teaching at the PhD-program.

Expectations of qualifications:

Applicants are required to:

•Demonstrate results within the field of nursing research     documented by publications
• Have a successful track record in obtaining research funding
• Have a successful track record as concerns collaboration interdisciplinary and with other sectors
• Have an academic degree (Ph.D., Dr.Med.Sci or equivalent)
• Have competences regarding both qualitative and quantitative research
• Have good oral, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Danish is not required initially, but will , however, be required after 1-2 years
