The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character. The University was founded in 2003 and counts more than 6,700 students and more than 2,000 employees from around the world. The University’s faculties and interdisciplinary centres focus on research in the areas of Computer Science and ICT Security, Materials Science, European and International Law, Finance and Financial Innovation, Education, Contemporary and Digital History. In addition, the University focuses on cross-disciplinary research in the areas of Data Modelling and Simulation as well as Health and System Biomedicine. Times Higher Education ranks the University of Luxembourg #3 worldwide for its “international outlook,” #20 in the Young University Ranking 2021 and among the top 250 universities worldwide.
UNIVERSEH , European Space University for Earth and Humanity, is an alliance of seven universities from seven European countries focused on Space as a whole. Created in November 2020, it develops a novel approach of collaboration in the framework of the new initiative "European Universities" financed by the European Commission. We create new interactive higher education experiences for the academic community, teachers, and students, and for the benefit of society. The University of Luxembourg has been a member of UNIVERSEH since its inception and supports the initiative through various work packages.
UNIVERSEH programs train the next generation of Space and New Space experts in Europe and provide students with outstanding career prospects in the rapidly expanding field of new space in Luxembourg and abroad.
UNIVERSEH aims to help teachers, administrators, and other staff members to boost the quality of student learning in all space-related disciplines. UNIVERSEH's vision emphasizes innovative, newly developed for purpose, digitization and new IT technologies as strategies to promote innovative learning environments and digital services for students and teachers.
