ICFO is a research center located in the Mediterranean Technology Park in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, and currently hosts 400+ people, including researchers, PhD students and staff personnel. Today, in its area of specialization and category, the institute is consistently ranked among the highest-quality research institutions worldwide.

ICFO’s Academic Affairs team is responsible for overseeing the training of graduate students and postdocs, including management of the PhD in Photonics program, ICFO’s involvement in several masters programs, and our engagement with academic partners locally and internationally. In order to fulfill our mission, we regularly coordinate and participate in Projects aimed at enhancing the training of graduate students and researchers, along with local and international partners.

We are currently looking for an Academic Affairs Manager. The applicant will work in ICFO’s Academic Affairs unit to support the Head of Academic Affairs to establish, coordinate and manage activities within the Catalonia Quantum Academy, a coordinated action among the leading universities and research centers in Catalonia with research, training and educational activities in quantum science and technology (QST) under the auspices of Quantica─ Vall Mediterrània de la Ciència I les Tecnologies Quantiques.

The Catalonia Quantum Academy (CQA) will enhance educational activities in QST in the region through actions executed by the partners involved, including central programs coordinated by ICFO on behalf of all partners.

Reporting to ICFO’s Head of Academic Affairs, the Project Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing the execution of the central programs of the CQA. Responsibilities include:

• Preparation and coordination of education and training actions within the CQA, including managing calls within this scope
• Develop and maintain standard procedures and relevant information relating to CQA actions
• Documentation and reporting on the actions within the CQA by ICFO and partners, including liaising with partners to gather relevant information, to ensure execution and reporting are achieved in a timely manner
• Coordination with stakeholders within ICFO and external partners
• Preparation of agendas, minutes and supporting documentation for meetings of the Board of Management of the CQA
• Liaise with the corresponding ICFO units to establish procedures, ensure efficient communication and proper exchange of information
• Attend regular meetings with internal units as well as external stakeholders and coordinate actions in the scope
