Offer Description

The Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis for up to 12 months (with the potential for transitioning to a permanent position based on good job performance). We invite applications for the position of Senior Research or Research Professor in the field of Communication and Information Sciences and Editor-in-Chief for the "Information & Media" scientific journal for part-time employment at 0.5 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent)

Skills/Qualifications

We expect that you:

• Meet the qualification requirements outlined in the Vilnius University Regulations for the Organisation of Teaching Staff and Research/Art Staff Recruiting Competitions and Certification
• Have previous experience in conducting scientific research in the field of Communication and Information Sciences
• Are capable of assessing the quality of scientific articles, organizing the peer reviewer selection process, making decisions regarding publication and other activities related to ensuring the overall quality of the journal's operations, published content
• Are proficient in a foreign language (English) at no lower than C1 level

We will consider it an advantage if you:

• Have participated in or led European Union funded international projects
• Regularly publish articles in international scientific journals or monographs in international academic publishing houses
• Have previous experience working on or leading the editorial board of a scientific journal

Specific Requirements

Job Responsibilities include:

• Conducting scientific research, leading research projects in the designated field, and disseminating research results
• Editing the "Information & Media" scientific journal (https://www.journals.vu.lt/IM ), which includes evaluating submitted articles, coordinating peer reviews, making decisions regarding publication and other activities related to ensuring the overall quality of the journal's operations, published content
• Actively participating and providing guidance to scholars, students, and junior academic staff (including postdoctoral fellows and projects involving doctoral students and other researchers)
• Participating in expert, public educational, and/or cultural dissemination activities
