Offer Description

[Background of the recruitment and description of the project]
* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The laboratory for Membrane Systems Biology, which started in April this year, focuses on elucidating the formation and regulation of biological membranes, addressing various unanswered questions such as how membranes are organized in vivo and how they respond to cellular and environmental changes and stresses. These membranes, composed of a variety of lipid molecules and membrane proteins, play crucial roles in cellular functions. In addition to traditional biochemical and cell biological approaches, the lab employs a unique strategy
utilizing newly developed technologies to analyze membrane changes in vivo. In collaboration with other research groups, the laboratory conducts cutting-edge protein engineering, next-generation sequencing, big data analysis, machine learning, MD simulation, and microscopic analysis.
The laboratory is seeking a highly motivated assistant professor who can provide leadership in ongoing projects. Ph.D. candidates are welcome, while the applicant is expected to be proactive in both wet and dry experiments. Also, those with 1~5 years of post-doctoral experience are encouraged to apply, bringing their research expertise to contribute significantly to the lab's projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for not only conducting research but also teaching chemistry and/or biology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Inquiries regarding this position are welcome.
