The Faculty of Pharmacy at Kanazawa University strives to enhance education and research in pharmacy.To strengthen the research organization promoting the research project "Unmet Medical Needs Research" listed in the pharmaceutical field, we invite applications for one position as an Assistant Professor in the area of Vaccinology and Applied Immunology according to the following guidelines.
[Work content and job description]
(1) Education
Lectures of general education courses of bachelor's programs. Lectures, seminars, practical training in infection Immunology and graduation research at School of Pharmacy and School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Specialized education and research guidance for students at Graduate School of Medical Sciences. You may be required to teach classes in English.
(2) Research
Development of a highly effective and durable next-generation multistage malaria vaccine effective against both pre-erythrocytic stage and sexual-stage Plasmodium parasites based on two viral vectors.This vaccine has successfully been proven to be safe and highly effective both for protection and transmission blocking in a non-human primate model. Crucially, this activity is long lasting in comparison with other anti-malarial vaccines tested in the same assay. At present, we are going to proceed to preclinical-stage including process development for cGMP manufacturing and non-clinical safety assessment.
