Offer Description

Scope of the project is the characterization and analysis of climate-induced soil instability phenomena and their effect on buildings and infrastructures. The main focus is on fast-moving landslides involving partly-saturated, shallow soil covers, such as those typically found in the Southwestern Apennines. These phenomena are triggered by sudden saturation induced by extreme climatic events. In the same geomechanical contexts and climatic conditions, in the case of more gentle morphologies, the phenomenon of saturation-induced volumetric collapse will be studied. Part of the project will be devoted to the study of slow-moving landslides interacting with buildings, involving clayey slopes in contexts typically found in the Southeastern Apennines.
