Offer Description
A post-doc position is available at the Genome Stability group at the Department of Environment and Health of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome (www.genomestabilitygroup.com ).
The project, funded by Worldwidecancer research, wants to investigate on the molecular mechanisms correlated to the synthetic lethal interaction observed between the WRN helicase and the MSI phenotype of cancers, especially colorectal cancer. The researcher is expected to undertake studies aiming to the characterisation of the SLI using cancer cell models, 2D and 3D, and to participate in studies aiming to characterize the WRN interactome and regulation using state-of-the-art proteomics technologies and genome editing.
The research contract is full-time, initially intended for 24 months but can be extended for further 12 months after positive evaluation. Further extension might be possible depending on funding. The contract includes fully-paid social security and pension, and net salary is about 1800 euros/month plus one extra month at the end of each year.
Starting date for this position is between December 2024 and February 2025.

What we are look for: Ideal candidates are highly motived PhD with no more than 3 year from getting the degree with proven expertise in human cell culture, molecular cell biology techniques and basic biochemistry.
As for internal administrative regulation, the eligibility criteria is having MSc and PhD degrees obtained from Italian Universities. Foreign candidates, to be eligible, need to get an equivalence certificate for their degrees from an Italian University in advance.
