YOUR TEAM

The advertisement is for a post-doctoral position working on a project that embraces different research areas spanning from material science to nanomedicine. It focuses on the impact of novel nanomaterials on human health. Recent evidence indicate that novel nanomaterials reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in diseased organs (e.g. lung), hence they can be promising technologies for medicine. The project is leaded by Dr. Stefania Sabella who has extensive experience in cellular tools (2D and 3D lung, liver and gut systems). You will be working within the Nanoregulatory group (https://www.iit.it/it/web/d3-pharmachemistry/nanoregulatory-platform ) within the D3-PharmaChemistry Research Line, a multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment, where biotechnologists and biologists, computational scientists, physicists, chemists experts collaborate for shared research goals.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Use of 2D and 3D multi-lineage cellular cultures (lung, liver or gut) and functional assessment of emerging novel nanomaterials

Take responsibility for major deliverables and milestones associated with the projects

Disseminate the outcomes of this research including peer-reviewed academic publications of international standing.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicinal Chemistry or equivalent; Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, organoid technology and similar disciplines;

Proven track record of post-doctoral research experience in relevant technical areas and projects (2D and 3D cell cultures, handling of primary human cells);

Strong publication record in the indicated areas

Ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

Good command of spoken and written English International research experience is desirable
