Offer Description
The main goal of the research activity will consist in:
Trust is strictly tied to the ability to predict the interlocutor’s future behaviors and therefore, for complex and not directly predictable systems, to their explainability capabilities. This project aims at investigating how Autonomous System (AS) should display two main features to create robust trust relationships with humans: competence, (i.e., sufficient skills to properly assist patients) and intentionality to pursue its goals while maintaining an ethical behaviour, both coupled with explanation capabilities. At the same time, robots should adopt different methodologies for influencing people's attitudes and behaviors. The AS also needs to be able to decide the level and modality of transparent behavior appropriate to favor the acceptance and trustworthiness of the assistance provided for the patients' well-being.
