Offer Description
The Research Group has developed contrast agents (CA) for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) alternatives to the Gadolinium complexes that are commonly used in clinical analyses.
Particularly promising are nanostructured systems containing fluorinated compounds for 19F MRI. Starting from this knowhow, the research activity of this grant intends to develop nanosystems more suited to the needs of a real application considering the characteristics of the material such as CA and its release into the environment after use.
The ideal candidate will have to develop a multidisciplinary project collaborating with research groups of biologists, medical doctors, physicists, and have skills in organic synthesis, hybrid organic-inorganic materials, be familiar with different techniques, NMR, IR, UV-Vis, TEM, TGA, DLS, DSC. Candidates with expertise in the synthesis, characterization and purification of organic fluorinated compounds are preferred.
