Offer Description
The activity focuses on the development and
implementation of advanced trigger algorithms,
leveraging the capabilities of Deep Neural Networks
(DNNs), to enhance the data processing efficiency
in high-energy physics experiments. Specifically,
the project aims to adapt and optimize these
algorithms for deployment on Field-Programmable
Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Graphics Processing
Units (GPUs). These accelerators are chosen for
their ability to handle the immense computational
demands and high throughput required during the
phase-2 upgrade of the ATLAS experiment, as well
as to future-proof methodologies for upcoming
experiments in the field. The initiative involves a
multidisciplinary approach, combining expertise in
particle physics, computer science, and electronic
engineering, to ensure the algorithms not only meet
the scientific objectives but also operate within the
constraints of the hardware platforms.
