Offer Description
In vitro transcribed (IVT) mRNA has recently emerged as a new biological drug class for various applications: vaccines for infectious diseases, protein replacement therapies, cancer immunotherapies and genome engineering by synthetic mRNA-encoded designer nucleases. Recent advance in mRNA technology successfully addressed the instability, delivery, immunogenicity, and translation efficiency issues inherent to mRNA-based therapeutics.
In this project we aim to set up a platform for design and testing chemically modified IVT mRNA in cellular models of rare genetic disorders or different types of cancer, where the mRNA stability, translational efficiency and impact on cell viability will be evaluated. The best candidates emerging from the in vitro studies will be also tested for in vivo efficacy in proper animal models of the disease.
