Offer Description

The INDEEP research programme integrates research, training and action learning to develop the next generation of researchers, to advance the field of determinant informed physical activity behaviour intervention development in youth and to integrate these learnings into public policy and practice. This will be achieved through the implementation of 10 individual research projects that have been carefully designed to support the successful achievement of the INDEEP research and training objectives. Challenges addressed in the INDEEP Doctoral Network (DN) reflect the premise that the more we understand the factors that determine a physically active or inactive lifestyle, the better we can design and implement targeted and effective interventions, policies and infrastructures. There is an absence of high quality, Europe-wide data collected with standardised methodology on device-assessed physical activity behaviours and their multi-level determinants, which is a major barrier that stops further progress towards informing policy and intervention in the area of physical activity for health. This project within the INDEEP doctoral network aims to advance the state-of-the-art, addressing the need for high-quality, Europe-wide standardised methodologies for collection of device-measured physical activity behaviours in a family setting.
