Senior University Tutor

We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as a Senior University Tutor in the Department of Media Studies. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching audiovisual production and a track record of recent professional work in the audiovisual sectors. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to teaching audiovisual production practice in the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including some supervision of practice projects at MA level.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to programme delivery and to maintain the currency and relevance of the production curriculum. They will also be capable of enhancing industry connections through organisation of industry guest lecturers, coordinating student work for festival and competition entry, and, where possible, facilitating and arranging short work placements and/or internships. The appointee will also contribute to tutoring of postgraduate research students and, where appropriate, staff.

Salary

Senior University Tutor (2024)*:              €55,626 – €62,618 p.a. (4 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
