The Senior Computer Systems Manager will define the requirements and lead a team to manage the IT infrastructure that supports the strategic objectives of the School in teaching and research. The successful person will report to the Head of School and work with the Head of Discipline of Electronic and Electrical Engineering to:

• Develop and lead a team of IT support specialists across the School

• Advise the School on adoption of new technologies including centralized data management and manage the successful deployment across disciplines

• Lead the Engineering response to the impact of new AI tools (ChatGPT) on teaching

• Represent the School in the development and planning of E3 IT Infrastructure for teaching and research particularly the E3 Learning Foundry (https://www.tcd.ie/e3/)

• Provide technical leadership in IT Infrastructure across all Disciplines of the School

• Manage the School IT infrastructure budget in the context of Engineering School overall income

• Be the expert point of contact with the University’s IT Services • Manage the relationship with external specialist vendors

Post status: Permanent

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative Officer 1 (1-3) Salary Scale (€66,838 -€86,463 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
